As a makeup artist, I have just about everything you can imagine in my kit besides makeup—lint roller, bandaids, energy bars, razors, tape—and more importantly, amazing skin care products.
I’m coming back to the makeup kit shortly…
Recently I was sent Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion to try out and review. So I tried it. At first I wasn’t so excited about the texture, it seems a little lightweight for me. But, as the day progressed, I noticed that my skin was moist. (Yes, I check my face out all day long to see if it feels dry– odd quirk I know.) After using the Shielding Lotion for the week, my skin truly did reach optimal levels of moisture retention.
Here is the claim for Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion:
A shielding lotion is a new type of lotion that is formulated to duplicate the skin’s natural actions to help heal dry, damaged skin. Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion becomes part of the outer layer of skin working to strengthen the skin barrier, keeping the good stuff in and the bad stuff out.
Conventional lotions don’t utilize the skin’s own natural moisturizing oils; instead they cover skin with a greasy layer of artificial moisture. This greasy, artificial moisture can send the wrong message that skin is hydrated and doesn’t need to produce it’s own natural oils that protect and moisturize.
After extended use of a conventional lotion skin can form a dependency causing it to become more dry and damaged if use is stopped. With prolonged use Skin MD Natural helps restore the skin’s own natural moisture-production cycle that becomes damaged by the use of other, more conventional lotions.
Skin MD Natural and Skin MD Natural + SPF 15 are manufactured in the United States using 100% solar power, free of animal products and animal testing.
Now back to the makeup kit…
I was cleaning out my kit for work one day and realized that my moisturizer was on “E”. So I grabbed the Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion to try it out on several skin types.
Since I found that I had great results on my skin with the Shielding Lotion, I thought it might work on a variety of skin types, and it did. From very dry skin to oilier skin types, I found that skin was hydrated with the lightweight formula and it did not interfere with makeup application. As a matter of fact, foundation applied with ease and looked flawless.
One model who has perpetually dry skin commented on the feel of her skin at the end of our shoot, that it still felt hydrated and supple. Over the course of a month, I found that every skin type responded well to Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion.
Even though I had nice results with this lotion, I still prefer a more emollient formula, particularly for night use.
