When I had my skin care practice, I was the enforcer when it came to my clients wearing sunscreen. Some may call it extortion, but they couldn’t have my services unless they purchased sunscreen. And they thanked me for it when they saw the improvement in their skin.
I gave up my practice 17 years ago, but I am still a devoted user of sunscreen and I insist that everyone I know use an SPF daily as well. My newfound favorite sunscreen is from La Roche-Posay, a brand I love. Anthelios 30 Cooling Water Sunscreen is pretty amazing with exciting technology. This sunscreen was sent to me from DooBop for review.
Here are the details about Anthelios 30 Cooling Water Sunscreen:
An optimized combination of UVA/UVB filters chosen for its more synergistic effect to deliver broad-spectrum protection.
A powerful Antioxidant complex to help protect skin from free radicals caused by UV rays and that can cause premature skin aging.
In a formula designed for optimal skin tolerance.
My number one pet peeve with sunscreens for black skin is that oft times it turns this purple opalescent holographic color. Not cute. So my litmus test is if a sunscreen melts into my skin and disappears, then it’s a winner. Well, that’s exactly what La Roche-Posay Anthelios 30 Cooling Water Sunscreen does. And it does so without leaving my skin white, or ashy or with that horrific purple haze.
The formula of La Roche-Posay Anthelios 30 Cooling Water Sunscreen is pretty amazing. I used it a couple weeks ago the first time when out for a day of wine tasting. It was warm day and because I have a sun allergy (sounds nuts I know, but the sun breaks me out in a ridiculous rash) I slather on the SPF in lavish amounts. The first thing I noticed about this cooling water-lotion formula is that it was just that – cooling. Which was great for a day in the sun.
It also is wonderful for re-applying because it is so lightweight. Have you ever had to pile sunscreen on for an entire day? It can look and feel unappealing. Such is not the case with La Roche-Posay Anthelios 30 Cooling Water Sunscreen however. After my first application that I made before I left home, I reapplied twice more during the day. My skin felt refreshed each time, without product build up.
As far as sun protection, La Roche-Posay Anthelios 30 Cooling Water Sunscreen protected me from my sun allergy and sunburn throughout an entire day in and out of the sun.
