I have big lips. That’s not insecurity or regret speaking, that’s honesty: my lips are not petite. So, I’m paraticular about what I put on my natural attention seekers. Any wrong texture, color, or consistency and they go from full and sexy to wrong and sloppy.
I am also a nude lip afficianado. If it’s not nude, I’m not wearing it. I also prefer “natural” products so with that being said, my EIC hooked me up with a few lippies to review.
Tarte LipSurgence Natural matte Lip Stain in Peaceful was my first nude lip color to check out. And check I did…
But before I tell you about my results, here is the 411 on Tarte’s natural lip stain:
Tarte LipSurgence Natural Matte Lip Stain is clinically proven to give you a 6000% increase in lips’ moisture content in 28 days! These much-anticipated natural lip stains are an extension to the best-selling and award-winning cheek stains. Just like the iconic cheek stains, each emotive, peppermint-infused shade smoothly glides on lips for a natural flush that will stay all day. So say goodbye to reapplying your lip color throughout the day and say hello to a gorgeous pop of color and hydration that lasts.
Since I don’t have naturally smooth lips, I used a basic lip balm with SPF as a base to relax the lip creases and provide sun protection. The crayola-shaped lip stain allowed control-— where I wanted the nude color to begin and stop. Not only did the lip stain glide on smoothly and evenly, but the matte nude color enhanced my natural lip color without making my lips look pasty or washed out.
Midday mirror check? Color was harmoniously in place, giving a just applied look, and there wasn’t any gunk to wipe away. Over time, I noticed there was less need for my basic balm. Something about having a non-gloss option makes me feel sophisticated. Can you say in love?
Pros: Smooth, not chalky, beautiful lasting color.
