Though lipstick will always be my first makeup love, I have recently become obsessed with highlighters! On my quest for gorgeous, glowing skin, I have tried a variety of products: powders, pigments, creams, and even eyeshadows. As far as I am concerned, anything goes as long as it glows! Lately, I have noticed that I reach for one highlighter before all the rest. Here’s what’s up with Benefit Cosmetics Watt’s Up!
“What it is:
A soft-focus highlighter for face.
What it does:
This cream-to-powder highlighter turns up the wattage with a delicate, gorgeous champagne glow. Its smooth application and luminous sheen switches on the “wow” factor for any complexion. Apply it to cheeks and browbones, then sculpt with the soft-glow blender for your perfect gleam.”
I purchased the Watt’s Up highlighter in a last-minute impulse buy at Sephora. Don’t judge me, I know you’re guilty too! As soon as I swiped the sample onto the back of my hand, I knew it would only be better on the face.
The first thing I love about this product is the roll-up stick packaging. It’s compact, perfect to throw in your bag for on-the-go touch ups. Other great aspects are the texture and formula. The “cream-to-powder” description is perfectly fitting as the beautiful champagne color glides across the skin, setting to a budge-proof finish with incredibly long-lasting wearability.
My favorite areas to apply Watt’s Up are definitely my cheekbones, but I’ve also made a habit of spreading a touch on my cupid’s bow, the tip of my chin, and down the bridge of my nose for that extra sun-kissed sheen. My light/medium brown skin can be quite pale at times (especially during the winter months), and Watt’s Up is just the pick-me-up product to add that breath of life to my face. It makes me look as though I’m glowing from the inside out! I’m even more excited for the warm weather when I fully expect this highlighter to bring out my golden goddess! I am also confident that Benefit Cosmetics has cooked up a product that will suit a variety of brown girls, from light to deep skin tones.
As for application, you can use a makeup brush or the small blending sponge that comes on the end of the packaging, but my personal preference is the fingertips! The natural warmth within your fingertips will really help to melt the cream product into your skin with ease.
All in all, I am loving Benefit Cosmetics Watt’s Up!
