Product Review: Jane Carter Solution Natural Hold Locking Spray

I wear my hair in Sisterlocks and they save me a ton of time and stress. I love the styles I can create as my hair grows out. Look at all the beautiful ways locked celebs like Ledisi and Lalah Hathaway wear their hair. The style possibilities are truly endless!

I’ve seen Jane Carter Solution products but I never purchased them. I often thought most of the products were for “loose haired” naturals, so I honestly never gave it much thought.

Many lock wearers know that when you have locks you have to be careful of the products used in your hair, because if a product gets stuck it can’t just be combed out or washed out easily (I learned this the hard way with a terrible incident with baking soda and apple cider vinegar). So I’m extra cautious!!!

I was given the chance to review Jane Carter Natural Hold Locking Spray and it is clear so I figured what's the worse that can happen?

My results:

Right away, I noticed the fragrance was light and not overbearing. In fact, the light smell seems to disapate. It is a gentle hold that will keep locks and locked styles in place. I don’t have to twist my locks but I did try a basic up-do style and it helped hold my hair in place. I even spritzed a little all over my hair and ran my fingers through my hair to create a little volume and with Jane Carter Natural Hold Locking Spray my hair obeyed nicely.

Jane Carter Natural Hold Locking Spray would work nicely with locks that are twisted or palm rolled as well as work nicely holding elaborately locked or loose styles.

I give Jane Carter Natural Hold Locking Spray 4.5 Blings.

Pros: Very Easy to use. Great for natural hair textures and types
Cons: Noticed a little (AND I MEAN JUST A LITTLE) flaking, it could be due to the way I handled my hair when styling it.

Bad Beauty Habits: We Resolve to Break Them…At Least Try

Sexy crooner Maxwell sang about "Bad Habits," and we all have them. As the beauty veteran at Blinging Beauty, I know I need to practice what I preach. But I don't. Not all the time at least. Unfortunately for me, I have this "all or nothing" issue—either I'm going like gangbusters, or I'm totally DONE! So I'm all over doing the right thing with my hair/skin/body, or I'm just a flat out #loser. I'm trying to learn moderation in all things, and at the ripe old age of 54, to stay on top of my beauty habits. So, I forced asked my Bling Team members to share one bad beauty habit—or maybe that should be non-beauty habit— that they are going to try to squelch this year. Since I am at the helm of this ship, I figure it's only fair that I'm the first to divulge my bad habits. While I only asked them to talk about one, I'm going to spill the beans—I'm sharing my top 10 non-beauty habits. Drum roll please…. 10. Sleeping in makeup. 9. Not sleeping enough. 8. Lately, my typically clear skin has become unrecognizable. My low-maintenance facial routine couldn’t contend with my new facial issues: erupting pimples all over, stubborn dry patches on my cheeks, and oily areas on my forehead and nose.
