I consider myself quite the mascara connoisseur—after all, right on the heels of of my love of that greasy thick roll-on Bonne Bell lipgloss in the glass bottle from the 70s, my foray into the world of makeup was all about globbing on tons of mascara. My mother had outlawed my use of makeup, so I had gloss my lips and embellish my lashes on my way to school so I became quite adept at on-the-go application. I also became quite addicted to mascara.
Well, my addiction to mascara is still with me. I’m sure it is in my top 5 must-have beauty products. Quite naturally I have tried dozens! I have high hopes that I will find one that surpasses my current favorite which is found in the drugstore aisles.
So I recently tried Buxom Lash mascara, from Bare Escentuals. It came highly recommended from another makeup artist that I have worked with, so I decided to give it a whirl.
Here is the claim about Buxom Lash:
Bare Escentuals Buxom® Lash Mascara – Blackest Black holds the style of your lashes for a continuous 12 hours with no flakiness. The silky, vitamin-rich formula darkens, lengthens, and thickens from root to tip without ever clumping. Its patented, hourglass-shaped brush is designed to lift and separate every lash while delivering the perfect amount of antioxidant-rich mascara needed for bigger, fuller lashes.
What it is formulated WITHOUT:
– Synthetic Fragrances
– Synthetic Dyes
What else you need to know:
It Intensely volumizes lashes up to 300%.
What I found:
My lashes were separated and lengthened, but not “bigger, fuller lashes.” For someone who prefers a more natural look with their mascara, Buxom is probably a good option. However, I would not recommend this mascara for someone who is accustomed to full, volumized lashes. And I was truly disappointed because I wanted to love this product.
Since Buxom Lash does live up to it’s claim for lengthening and separating I give it 2 Blings.
