My Stubby Nail Cure: Zoya Summer 2014 Pixie Polish in Ginni
I really have a love/hate relationship with my nails. Either I’m loving them and pampering them with manicures and cuticle cream, or i’m abusing them and ripping them to the bare bones. I happen to be in that latter mode — picking my cuticles, peeling my nails and they look hideous. But, I’m a so-called beauty expert so I just can’t go out looking like I have been working on the railroad without gloves, so I had to find a cure quickly.
Well, just in time, my new Zoya sampler of their Pixie Colors for Summer 2014 arrived. YAY! Now, I have someone with gorgeous long, beautiful, REAL nails who does polish swatches for me, but I just had to play when these polishes arrived. So I tried all three colors on — Ginni, Arlo and Bar. For some reason I took an instant liking to Ginni. Maybe because it reminds of of Gino. Which reminds me of Italy…

Why Zoya Pixie Dust in Ginni works for my stubby nails:
Well, for some reason, even with all the chunky glitter, my nails look finished without being obnoxious. The glitter in Pixie Dust is matte and that makes it special. I have 2 loaded coats on in the photo below, so you can see how it stands out, but not really. Not like a neon yellow or orange would stand out on theses short nails. What’s weird is that I usually don’t do glitter, nor do I go with matte polishes. But for some reason this particular combo of color, texture and glitter is working for me!
Pixie Dust also hold up well under the abuse of constant hand washing, cleaning, washing dishes and typing all day. (blogger here) I love it. I think next week I’m going with Bar. I will update this post to show that color too!
