The whitewashing (better know in the industry as photoshopping) of Beyoncé for L’Oréal last year had black and whites alike in an uproar. Her skin was clearly lightened for and ad campaign, and it came back to bite L’Oréal in the butt. I’m not so sure that the ad negatively affected the bottom line for L’Oréal, I am still addicted to L’Oréal mascara. Then there was the whole racism verdict with them as well.
And of course Bey is working it only the way she can—with “Naughty Girl” in the background no less.
