Iman Honored at CFDA 2010

Iman is stunningly gorgeous. After recently meeting Iman, a timeless fashion/beauty icon, I am determined to maintain not only my youthful attitude on life, but my 50 something looks as well!  Iman was honored at the 2010 CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) Fashion Show last night, and she most certainly stole the show!

Sam Fine did Iman’s makeup for the occasion and Tia Williams at Essence.com has the scoop:

The CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) Fashion Awards is like the Oscars for the style industries–one of the most dazzling, important nights on the fashion calendar–and at last night’s ceremony, Iman was the belle of the ball! The supermodel/mogul was awarded the Fashion Icon Award, and she looked every inch the part in her custom-made Giamattista Valli gown, Fred Leighton Jewelry, and the most stunning makeup we’ve ever seen, courtesy of celeb makeup artist extraordinaire, Sam Fine. Here, Fine explains how he created a look befiitting an “Icon:”

SKIN:
“I applied concealer one or two shades lighter than Iman’s complexion underneath the eyes, fanning it out towards the center of the face. Next, I blended Second to None Luxury Radiance Liquid Makeup in Earth to even her skintone, and then set it with Semi-Loose Powder in Earth Medium. To add a warm glow, I blended Sheer Bronzing Powder in Clay near the hairline, cheeks and chin.

CHEEKS:
I often use bronzer as blush, but tonight I craved a pop of color, so I used Luxury Blushing Powder Duo in Allure–an orange and coral combo–to create a glowy, summer cheek!

EYES:
First, I applied a beige highlighter directly underneath her browbone. Next, I blended a dark brown, gold-flecked shadow from lashline to crease, and along the lower lashline. And since we were going for all-out drama, I lined the inner rims with black khol pencil, and followed up with false lashes and a few coats of mascara. Lastly, to add a bit of sparkle, I applied a bit of gold eyeshadow to the inner corner of the eye, nearest the nose (try Luxury Eye Shadow in Tiger Eye and White Gold).

EYEBROWS:
I brushed Iman’s brows up to see what areas need to be enhanced, and then, with a medium brown pencil, I used quick strokes to fill-in and extend the tail of the brow.

LIPS:
Because Iman’s eyes were so dramatic, I wanted the lips to be subtle! I lined her lips with a brown pencil two shades darker than her complexion (try Cocoa Perfect Lip Pencil), and then applied a rosy beige lipstick. For extra shine, I topped it off with Blushing Nude Luxury Lip Shimmer, a clear gloss.

BODY:
Iman was wearing a strapless gown, so I enhanced her skin by blending a bit of moisturizer with foundation and applying it over her neck, chest and arms.
