How to: Keep Your Summer Glow Through Fall
Invariably, despite the piles of sunscreen I slather on daily, every summer I get a bit of a tan. This summer due to a few beach excursions, I got a serious tan. I’m not complaining — I love the glow that comes from a from a little sun exposure. But when fall comes that glow tends to fade, and that process can be pretty nasty if you don’t have the proper tools for transitioning your summer glow to fall.
How to keep your summer glow:
1. Exfoliate
Keep your skin tone even with regular exfoliation. I use both chemical (retinol) and physical (scrub) exfoliants.
Try: YBF Prep Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion crystals polish, skin brightening alpha arbutin and niacin help balance uneven pigmentation.
Try: Vichy Laboratoires LiftActiv Retinol HA Night
Triple dose of hyaluronic acid*** + Retinol-A Complex.
$42 drugstore.com
2. Fake your glow
Use a tinted moisturizer instead of foundation. You have the triple-duty benefit of color, moisture and SPF
Try: Smashbox Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer
$30 Beauty.com
3. Add Warmth
A little well placed bronzer goes a long way towards looking like you just left St. Barts, even if you just left your cubicle.
Try: Glo Minerals gloBronze
$38.50 glomineralsdirect.com
4. Body Glow
A subtle sheen on your legs, shoulders, decollete and arms, is the finishing touch.
Try: Nuxe Golden Shimmer Dry Oil
This lovely oil can even be used on your hair!
