Green Day Thursday: Editor’s Pick—Nubian Heritage Coconut & Papaya Lotion

Brown girl here — that means I live in the no ash zone. As they say, #ICant. I can’t have ashy skin. And believe it or not, the right body lotion does make a difference in whether or not I conquer the ash when I lotion up. All lotions are not create equal. You can quote me on that.

Nubian Heritage lotions are infinitely better than your average drugstore body lotion. You can quote me on that too. My most recent Nubian Heritage Lotion love is the Coconut & Papaya Lotion. But before I keep on gushing, here are the details about this lovely lotion.

About Nubian Heritage Coconut & Papaya Lotion $11.99:

Nubian Heritage coconut and papaya lotionNon-greasy yet ultra-hydrating, this all-natural, fragrant lotion deeply moisturizes with Virgin Coconut Oil and Certified Organic Shea Butter, while brightening skin with Papaya Enzyme. Sweet-scented and nutrient-rich, the Nubian Heritage Coconut & Papaya Collection pays homage to the bounty of natural tropical ingredients.

The coconut palm has touched all aspects of daily life for millions of tropical communities. Since the 1st Century B.C., the coconut tree has provided shelter, transportation and, more importantly, food. Coconut Oil, high in vitamins, minerals and fatty acids, is an excellent skin softener and protector. Papaya contains papain, a naturally occurring enzyme, used for centuries to gently dissolve dead skin cells, loosen pore blockage and stimulate circulation.

Does Not Contain:

No Parabens, No Phthalates, No Paraffin, No UREA, No Propylene Glycol, No Mineral Oil, No Synthetic Fragrance, No PABA, No Animal Ingredients, No Petrolatum, No Synthetic Color, No DEA.

Why I love it:

Nubian Heritage Coconut & Papaya Lotion is a luxury body lotion w deceptive packaging. We live in a society that expects a lot of bruhaha packaging to accompany a stellar product. But at the end of the day, does it at the the product’s efficacy? Nope. So the simple plastic bottle with simple, detailed labels from Nubian Heritage belie the contents.

On the those contents…

This lotion is so thick and creamy is could probably be classified as a body cream. No doubt because of the coconut oil and shea butter being primary ingredients. For such a rich lotion, is absorbs quickly and leaves the skin moisturized for hours. Nubian Heritage Coconut & Papaya Lotion also gets rid of those pesky bumps on the back of your arms and thighs (better known as keratosis pilaris) and smooths skin in rough areas like elbows and knees.

I love the scent which can is light enough so that it doesn’t interfere with any other fragrance I may wear, and it stands well on its own. A little goes a very long way, which makes this body lotion a great deal too. Additionally, the social consciousness of Nubian Heritage makes their product line a favorite, along with the fact that they avoid nasty ingredients.

I love this lotion and it’s definitely a 5 Bling product — wish I could give it more!
