Get the Look: Rose Cordero for NARS
I was ecstatic to see Rose Cordero featured on Sephora—YAY! I remember working for Sephora.com and begging for women of color on represented equally on the site and catalogs.
Sephora also gave step-by-step instructions on how to get this look, which I think I will try to replicate, as it’s is so beautiful and wearable for all skin tones.
Get the look “Front Row”:
COMPLEXION
Begin by applying Pore-Refining Primer all over the face. Work two to three pumps of Sheer Glow Foundation between palms and smooth over skin. Apply to the center of the face and blend outwards. Apply Concealer under eyes, across lids, and on any spots or blemishes. Blend with a fingertip and a flat concealer brush. Dip a puff in Pressed Powder, blow off any excess formula, and press into skin to set foundation. Then, dust face with a clean powder brush to remove any excess powder.
Prep the eye area with Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base to intensify colors and provide a lasting finish. Apply a small amount to the eye area and gently blend with finger.
Apply the silver lilac shade of Duo Eyeshadow in Nouveau Monde to the lid, blending into the inner corner. Sweep the rich olive-gold shade into the crease, extending towards the outer corner of the eye.
Then, apply Eyeliner Stylo in Nuits Blanches along the upper and lower lashes.
Darken and define lashes with two coats of Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara.
CHEEKS
Highlight and contour the cheeks with The Multiple in Portofino.
Apply The Multiple in Portofino to the lips. Top with Lip Gloss in Orgasm for shine. To further define lips, line with a brown-toned lip liner, like Lip Liner Pencil in Borneo.

I think it’s just too much. The eyeshadow should’ve been a bit subtler since she’s some color on her lipgloss.

That’s a great observation Thais. I think that the makeup is a bit more because it is on the editorial side. Without the saturation of color, I don’t think people would even know she had makeup on!
