Get the Look: Lauryn Hill Hip Hop Hot Mess Clown

Singer Lauryn Hill performed at the EXPRESS Rocks Hosted By Skullcandy And Vevo At Harry O’s on January 26, 2011 in Park City, Utah for the Sundance Film Festival, and didn’t look a thing like the beautiful young woman I remember. From the Fugees fame of the 1990s to gracing the cover of Vogue, Lauryn Hill was the cover girl of hip hop style.  But recently she has been looking more like a bag lady  on the verge… What’s up with the day-glow turquoise and sunshine yellow eyeshadow?

I’ve read about folks walking out of her show, her tardiness, but since I’m all about beauty, I just have to say what’ the heck is going on with that makeup?  And I’m not the queen of fashion, BUT, this get up she was wearing reminded me letting my daughters dress themselves when they were toddlers.  I take that back.  Even at two years of age, they had better fashion sense.

I realize that raising a family can leave a woman short-circuited on brain cells, but I have to think that something else of a more serious nature is at work here.  Or not at work…
