Fierce Friday: Lianne La Havas—How to Draw Outside the Lines with NARS Inspired ‘Kristin’ Eyeliner Tips from Janice Daoud

Lianne La Havas,  the Brit who sings like an old-soul R&B diva and tends to dress more fifties than new millennium, was working  "White Done Right" in a superb fashion at the the Barclaycard Mercury Prize at The Roundhouse on November 1, 2012 in London, England.

Lianne's plunging v-neck, long-sleeved (with a single red flower on the left sleeve) white gown was singularly accessorized with an oversized gold medallion necklace. Free from common "pretty" makeup, Lianne opted for exaggerated winged-out eyeliner, perhaps paying homage to the iconic eyeliner style of her fellow fallen Brit Amy Winehouse.

Or, Lianne may have been rocking the look created by Pat McGrath for Anna Sui's Fall 2012 Runway models—exaggerated eyeliner in blue with a dot under the lower lash line.

Seen on the runways for Fall 2012, the geometric eyeliner trend is one that all women can wear with some simple tweaking.  A slight exaggeration of your everyday eyeliner up to a full-blown bat-wing—anything goes!

What better way have all eyes on you for Fierce Friday than to rock "The Kristin" eye.  Janice Daoud, international makeup stylist with NARS tells how to use NARS Stylo to get an awesome geometric lined eye.

Graphic Liner —"The Kristen"

Technique:

  1. Create a base on the lid using NARS Blackmoon eye liner pencil starting at the lash line.
  2. To achieve a clean extended line place a triangular sponge, with the thinnest portion at the outer corner of the eye and aligned just above the top of the ear.
  3. Starting at the outer corner of the eye draw the NARS Eyeliner Stylo over the base inward towards the center of the eye.
  4. Continue to build color by adding additional strokes until opacity and thickness are achieved.
