As much as I love color, I am pretty much a bore with my personal color palette for dressing. Black, black and more black. Throw in some grey, some white and occasional red or pink and that’s it. Over the years I suppose I adopted the basic black uniform that makeup artists tend to wear. However this summer, I struck out and added in more that my usual “safe” colors. One of those was a gorgeous shimmery olive green top. Every time I wear that little green top I get so many compliments. So clearly, green is a good color for me. Check me out!
So why not take to trek to Emerald City with me?
I love green eyeshadow and liners. Check out Jada Pinket-Smith with her gorgeous eyes rimmed in green shadow.
You can easily get Jada’s gorgeous look by using shades of green. The perfect tool to achieve that goal is Yves Saint Laurent OMBRES 5 LUMIÈRES — Garden of Eden. The four shades range in intensity for defining or lining to highlighter.
A subtle way to brighten eyes with a spot of green is to use a pretty eyeliner. I prefer liquid or gel eyeliners, but you can also use pencils to achieve your desired look. I have raved over Bobbi Brown’s gel eyeliners before, and I still LOVE them. They are hands down one of the best on the market and I have been using them for years. She has two gorgeous greens — Forest Shimmer Ink and Ivy Shimmer Ink. I am actually wearing the Ivy Shimmer Ink in the picture above. I love them because they define the eyes without harshness. Rather there is a brightness to the eyes and that is an immediate lift and youth booster!
Accessorize your look with a little Chanel Bauble — Jade will do — and Polish and you will have all the glam you need.
Then of course all you would need is the perfect princess pump to finish your look. How about this one by Valentino?
Welcome to Emerald City!
