Budget Beauty Tuesday Review—Hair: John Frieda Frizz-Ease Nourishing Oil Elixir

Frizzy hair needs big time taming. Take it from me. Some products are too heavy, some are too light and some are just right. John Frieda Frizz-Ease Nourishing Oil Elixir is just right. And that’s why it’s worth of mention on Budget Beauty Tuesday.

Here are the deets about John Frieda Frizz-Ease Nourishing Oil Elixir $9.99:

My results:

I have fine, curly and wavy hair which is prone to frizz when it is not properly moisturized. I used John Frieda Frizz-Ease Nourishing Oil Elixir on my hair both wet (after shampooing and conditioning) and dry and had great results with it. When using  the Nourishing Oil Elixir on my wet hair and letting it air dry my hair simply curls without an ounce of frizz in sight.

Used on dry hair, John Frieda Frizz-Ease Nourishing Oil Elixir dries without heavy residue. There is argan oil in this product, but it is primarily made up of silicone derivatives. While lots of natural hair advocates are anti-silicone, I’m not “hating.” Cyclopentasiloxane, the first ingredient in this hair oil  does the following:  “It provides a silky feel without weighing the hair down with greasy residue. Because of its water-thin consistency, it helps deliver heavier silicones also contained in a product; for this reason, is often used in conjunction with dimethicone. In fact, as a volatile silicone it quickly evaporates into the air after delivering nutrients to the skin and hair.” Truth in Aging I love that as soon as I apply this oil elixir to my hair, it sinks right in and there is no residue on my hands at all.

I think that’s pretty amazing science and it explains why I can load this product into my hair and just have pretty, frizz-free hair without the greasy results that I have with pure  hair oils.  With ordinary oils, I find that my hair is weighted down and greasy, not the case with nourishing hair elixir.  I also John Frieda Frizz-Ease Nourishing Oil Elixir for use as protection when using heated implements like blow dryers and curling irons.  My hair remains frizz free for days using John Frieda Frizz Ease products, particularly the Nourishing Elixir.
