Budget Beauty Makeup Review: Essence Volume Stylist 18hr Curl & Hold Mascara

Next to lip balm, mascara was the first makeup item I started wearing decades ago, so needless to say, I’m pretty picky about my mascara. I like it to do everything — lift, curl, :, lengthen and not smudge. So, I get many mascaras to review and not all of them pass the test, but one I have been using by Essence Cosmetics has not only passed my test — but with flying colors!

My results:

First off, the wand on this mascara is my perfect style — it’s full in the middle and tapers at the tip. And the formula is so on point, it does it all! I have straight lashes that by all accounts are thinning, but Essence Volume Stylist 18hr Curl & Hold Mascara not only lift and curls my lashes, but makes them look super full. I love that.

Additionally, I need my mascara to go the full mile, to last all day and night if need be, without smudging or flaking. I can depend on this mascara to stay in place and keep my lashes on point. I particularly hate when at the end of the day I look in the mirror and see a dark ring under my eyes from my mascara fall out, but no such nonsense with my Essence mascara.
