Blinging Babe of the Week: Miss Piggy

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye.”

I love Miss Piggy.  She’s a babe. Oozing self-confidence, sporting big hair and big eyelashes, you can’t help but see why Kermit is smitten with her. Sesame Street just turned 40 years old, and I thought who better to honor for Blinging Babe this week?  Now I realize that Miss Piggy is from the Muppet Show, but when I think of Muppets, be it Sesame Street or Muppet Show, Miss Piggy is my hands down favorite.

misspiggy4Miss Piggy is voluptuous, she hasn’t bought into that stick-thin model behavior.  Her fashion sense is on point; how many women have long gloves for every occasion?  Not to mention the pearls adorning her neck.  And you have to love her self-styled French grammar.

A bit about the pre-stardom years for Miss Piggy:

Born in Hog Springs, Iowa Miss Piggy always knew that she would someday reach the dizzy heights of stardom. When interviewed by Harpers and Bazaar she revealed with all the modesty that only Miss Piggy could exude, ‘I always knew that I was destined for le top.’ In the same interview she attributed her success to ‘Talent, Beauty, Intelligence, Wit. And Modesty.’

After graduating high school, Miss Piggy begain work in a department store selling gloves.  However, her salary was not sufficient to support her glamorous ways.  Her big break came when she  became a major player on the Muppet Show.  Miss Piggy has such an extensive list of credits, she must be the hardest working pig in Hollywood.

Designer Marc Jacobs has even done a collection for the venerable Miss Piggy.

I am impressed that Miss Piggy is a published author.  I’m still working at it.  Check out Diva Code, The: Miss Piggy on Life, Love, and the 10,000 Idiotic Things Men Frogs Do. Miss Piggy offers up words of wisdom on how to get and keep your man, or frog.  For example, is he won’t commit — keep on the offense, after all the best defense if a good offense.  So keep being offensive.  Hmmm.

When it comes to beauty, I love that Miss Piggy is always perfectly coiffed and not afraid to change up her hair style.  I wonder if she saw Good Hair?  And her bling of choice is understated — pearls are always appropriate!

At any rate, I think if more women adopted Miss Piggy’s charming attitude and ever-changing style, we would have more men to court that we could count!

Miss Piggy is ultimate glam! How cute that you gave us some info about our favorite female Muppet. One of my favorite movies growing up was “The Muppets Take Manhattan.” I got that movie for my niece when she turned 2. She is now growing fond of her. I love it!

I'd love to hear your thoughts!
