What I’m Loving Now: Sibu Beauty Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil

6th Sep 2010, by Tracey Brown, filed in Advice, Beauty, Eczema, Skin Conditions, Treatment

seabuckthornI had oily skin all my life, until this thing called menopause started to wreak havoc not only with my moods (sorry kids) but my skin as well. No longer oily, but lacking in lipids, my extremist behavior has gone to the the opposite extreme of lavishing cream on my skin like mad.

Recently I received a package of goodies from Sibu Beauty, and one little gem enclosed has changed my life.  Okay, I exaggerated.  The Sea Buckthorn Oil has definitely improved the dryness in my skin.  (Imagined and otherwise.)

Here’s the claim for Sibu Beauty Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil:

  • Quick acting/readily absorbed
  • For all skin-types
  • Helps relieve Rosacea, Acne, Eczema
  • Helps diminish wrinkles/age-spots
  • Use to treat burns/wounds
  • Promotes skin recovery and healing
  • 100% CERES Organic
  • 10 ml bottle w/ dropper tip

What I found:

  • Oil absorbed immediately into my skin without a greasy feel
  • Improved moisture retention throughout the day
  • Helped my skin with dryness I was experiencing due to medication

Right now, Sibu Beauty has a promotion on GNC for a free bottle of Sea Buckthorn See Oil.  Click here to check it out.

I read lots of blogs, beauty and others. I appreciate that everyone has their point of view and some spot-on reviews and advice when it comes to beauty.  And I particularly enjoy when I feel a smile appear on my face.  Or better yet,  I let out my signature laugh.  (It’s pretty obnoxious)  Here are the top 5  blogs I enjoyed this week:

Diva Debbi’s review of  Maybelline’s new mascara  The Falsies Volum’ Express. Let me just say, I’ll take her word for it…

If there on product I am fanatical about, it’s concealer. My dark circles have been the source of much “research” when it comes to concealers.  So I continually try new concealers; there are some that I still stand by and I have added some new ones to my favorites list.  With that being said, here is my Blinging Beauty Best in Beauty – Concealers.

I am absolutely obsessed with eye creams. At any given moment throughout the day, you can probably spot me dabbing something around my eyes, and most recently that has been Relastin Eye Silk. (I don’t tend to use products as recommended)  If everything else on my face falls apart, I will have smooth tight eyes til the day my expire.

Budget Beauty Tuesday: IMAN Cosmetics Eye Defining Powder Makes Smokey Eyes Easy

Do you have a hard time creating a smokey eye? Most people do and I suppose that’s why there are a million smokey eye makeup kits, video how-to’s and tutorials on Youtube.  As a makeup artist, creating a smokey eye is second nature to me, but even I love shortcuts.  And I found a great short cut to an easy hot smokey eye.

In my goodie bag that I received upon check-in at the blogger event hosted by IMAN Cosmetics was an IMAN Cosmetics Eye Defining Powder in Black Magic .  Being the makeup junkie that I am, I couldn’t wait to play, so I wore the Eye Defining Powder that night.  And the smokey eye was HOT!  And simple!

Chocolate That Won’t Makeup You Fat, But You Will Look and Feel Yummy!

I’m a chocoholic. And for the sake of pounds, I have to avoid it like the plague.  Of late though, I have been getting my chocolate fix with a little square of dark chocolate. It’s amazingly satisfying and has health benefits to boot!

CNN health is reporting that a chocolate a day will keep the heart doctors away!  One study reviewed found people who consume chocolate reduce their risk of stroke or heart attack by 39% due to lowered blood pressure.  Similar to other studies findings it warns that the amount of chocolate consumed daily was a mere 7.5 grams per day.  Let’s be honest 7.5 grams won’t keep your chocolate addiction at bay, but another way to satisfy the chocolate fix without overdoing it is to use chocolate infused beauty products!

Check out the products below that contain cocoa as the active ingredient.  These beauty treats are guilt free way to indulge your chocolate obsession!

Budget Beauty Tuesday: Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Swivel Stick

frazzledI know it’s Wednesday, but for some reason, I couldn’t write yesterday. I think the word I can use to describe myself was frazzled.  So I’m a day behind.  Again.  At any rate, I’m back at it…

I was slathering this Cocoa Butter Swivel Stick on my legs the other night, and I realized that this was the perfect product to gush about for Budget Beauty Tuesday.  This stick by Palmer’s is not 100% pure cocoa butter, BUT I don’t care.  It is a miracle product. I wanted to be sure that I wasn’t being credulous about this product.  So I checked out other reviews.  And the lowest rating I found for it is a 9.8 out of 10. If only I could have such a high rating.  (Insert long sigh)

Budget Beauty Tuesday: I’m Loving Olay

I know it’s Wednesday, but I have been sick for a very long time, and I lost my groove. So I’m playing catch up!
I can’t believe it. I’m buying skincare products at the drugstore. I admit it. Me, the beauty snob, the skincare bootcamp instructor, I’m in love with a moisturizer that costs less than a mani and pedi. I’m talking about Olay Regenerist Microsculpting Cream. Now at 52, I’m more than mildly obsessed with keeping it tight, keeping it firm. My face and neck that is.

lashesI know it’s Wednesday, almost Thursday, and I’ve had a little bloggers’ block. But I’m playing catch up, so I guess I will chat up my latest and greatest budget beauty buy.  I am a mascara snob. I guess that’s why used pricey mascaras for so long.  That is until I discovered L’Oreal Voluminous. Well, I found another budget mascara that I could actually live with if for some ridiculous reason L’Oreal decided to quit making my beloved Voluminous.

Sooo, I checked our Rimmel Glam’Eyes Lash Flirt Mascara because it was so ridiculously low priced at Walmart (guilty pleasure.) Well, I can’t believe it, I rather like Glam’Eyes Lash Flirt Mascara.

Product Review: Vapour Organic Beauty Stratus Instant Skin Perfector

rbrb_2310I am all about products that are multi-tasking monsters! The more flaws of mine a beauty product fixes, the happier I am.  Well, I received some products by Vapour Organic Beauty to check out that are just awesome.  I haven’t been a huge fan of mineral makeup because most of it makes me (a brown girl) look like I have been having a flour fight in the kitchen.  Yes, that’s right, too ashy or too much mica, too much shine.  Just plain yuck.  But, every single product I have tried from Vapour is just lovely.  A little history about the founder of Vapour Organic Beauty – his name is Eric Sakas and he was the marketing genius behind the creative makeup genius Kevyn Aucoin, whom we all love and miss.

I could go on and on about each one of them, and one day I’m sure I will, but, I have to first tell you about my favorite new go-to primer and foundation.  (The foundation makes my skin just glow, glow, glow.  Gorgeous!)

Vapour Organic Beauty Stratus Instant Skin Perfector is all that and some.
