Since my creative juices seemed to have dried up today, I think it’s perfectly appropriate that I do a mash up of my personal Fierce Friday Favorites. And here they are in no particular order…
1. Get Banged

Naomi Campbell
Get your mind out of the gutter. I’m talking hair. I’m talking about rocking ferocious bangs. It’s Friday so change it up. Get fierce. Rock some bangs. While I’m not one to follow trends (I pride myself on doing my own chic thing) I happen to love bangs. As a matter of fact, I have worn various versions of bangs over the years, with my favorite being blunt cut bangs that graze the eyebrows. Now that’s hot. (Say it with a little Paris Hilton in your voice) But, being in that phase of my life when personal summers may attack at any given moment, my bangs most often give way to a fringe of frizz. Not cute.
2. Go Nude

Eva Marcille
Want all eyes on you? Go nude. Eva does it. Beyonce’ does it. Rihanna does it. Monica Lewinsky made it hot! I’m talking nude lips. Shiny, glossy nude lips will have all eyes on your tonight.
I kicked and screamed when the nude lip came into fashion. I hated it. Particularly for women who had small lips, the nude lip just made them look like they had all face — no lips. Not at all pretty. Plus most of the original nude lip colors were matte, and they were way too beige and just plain ugly.
When makeup artist Denise Markey gave Monica Lewinsky those shimmery nude lips, Club Monaco lip gloss sales skyrocketed. Women from 8 to 80 were trying to get those hot lips. Or maybe they were fantasizing about Bill…
3. Be a Top Heavy Girl

Jennifer Hudson
I think every woman yearns for that perfect chest, but I’m not talking DDD’s here, I’m talking about makeup. Specifically, eye makeup that puts all the emphasis on the top of the eye. I haven’t heard this term in years, so I thought I’d bring it back. With eyes in focus, your face is lifted immensely and you look just sexy cool.
To achieve this look, you have to say goodbye to lining under your eyes, and opt for lots of liner and lots of lash on top only. Brows are also important for looking “top heavy”. Proper under eye concealing is also a necessity — consider it your lift, your underwire!
It’s Friday! Get Fierce!

Fierce Friday is for Fierce Red! And Rihanna is our Lady in Red muse.

Rihanna seriously knows how to make a hair statement. While Rihanna continues to rock her asymmetrical bob with shaved sides, the fire engine red color makes her a stand-out. What I love most is that Rihanna is not afraid to pair a pair of perfectly siren red lips with her hot red hair. For the average everyday woman, such a combination may be a bit much, but not with our favorite high princess of pop.

Don’t you love lips that say “Look at me!”? This this spring demands that you paint your pout in none other than the brightest and prettiest colors in beautyland. Leona Lewis does bright red right and Rihanna rocks a pair of pink lips like no one else. And she does a fine job with orange too…

It’s your prom night and you definitely want to outshine the other girls. It’s time to bring out your inner bling. With a few key makeup accents your will be as hot as ____________________(insert one — Beyonce’, Rihanna, Keri Hilson, Ciara…)
Rihanna was a living doll a the 23rd Nickelodeon Awards. Even though her makeup was from NARS, you can get her look at a fraction of the price by just visiting your local drugstore.

Of course, the folks at NARS had a hand in her perfecting her look.

What I love about bangs is that all focus is on the eyes. So whoever is checking you out can’t help but look you dead in the peepers. Be sure that your eye makeup is perfect. Emphasize your lashes – go faux or wear plenty of mascara. Accent cheekbones with a shimmery blush and gloss up lips and you are good to go!
So check everyone who is wearing the eyebrow fringe right now!
So it’s quite a relief to know that even hotties like Halle Berry and Rihanna rock a cap now and then. And with their signature hair cuts, we all know the cap is not really for a fashion statement. Does the expression bad hair day come to mind? Hmmmm…..
Check out paparazzi shot of Halle trying to handle her day-to-day life.

Chaka Khan circa 1975
I have a penchant for big hair. I think it began when I first saw and heard Chaka Khan. Even though I couldn’t sing a lick, I secretly yearned to be Chaka Khan, Chaka Khan, Chaka Khan. So, since I could only sing into my lotion bottle and live vicariously through my Rufus LP’s, I made a pact with myself that one day I would have big hair.

Thinking back on it, significant women in music have pretty much always had big hair. Think about Diana Ross; some of the biggest hair I have ever seen. Maybe Chaka was trying to outdo Diana’s hairdo. I think I will call them hair divas. And maybe that big hair thing is genetic, just look at Tracee Ellis Ross. Her hair is voluminous and tres sexy.

Tracee Ellis Ross
Today, there are more hair divas. Beyonce’ is the queen of big hair. And I must admit, she wears it well. Even Rihanna’s hair is big, albeit short. In view of the trend of musical women sporting big hair, I have come to the conclusion that men must love copious amounts of hair on women. Heck, I’m a woman I love all that hair on women.
With that said, clearly then, big hair must be an accoutrement that breeds fierceness. Today is Friday, and it’s it’s all about getting fierce. So go for it ladies, get big hair– get fierce.
So Rihanna, appeared in Norway on the show Skavlan yesterday. I like that Rihanna takes risk with her fashion, her style. But sometimes she leaves me wondering, “what on earth???” Well, this appearance on Skavlan is one of those occasions. She is as cute as ever, but I’m not getting this outfit she has on. And maybe I just don’t have a clue about fashion… What do you think?

It’s Friday, time to get fierce! Not only is it Friday, but it’s major party time for lots of folks. So how can you punch up your look so that you noticed for all the right reasons? Try some color for a change. I know, I know — black is so chic and easy to wear, but try to get out of that comfort zone of black, black and more black and go for a pop of color!
Your color pop may be a subtle as a bright lip color. Try a vibrant pink or peach for change of pace. Rihanna is picture perfect with her hot pink pout.
